Professor Christof Hettich has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 21 May 2010 and is its current Chairman. Professor Hettich is a lawyer and partner at RITTERSHAUS Rechtsanwälte in Mannheim/Frankfurt/Munich. He studied law and political science at the Universities of Freiburg, Würzburg and Mannheim, obtaining his PhD from the University of Würzburg. Professor Hettich has extensive experience in arranging M&A transactions as well as in the structuring and restructuring of medium-sized and public companies. He manages the procurement of private equity financing including the preparation of share issues in sectors such as biotechnology and medical technology. Professor Hettich is co-founder and Managing Director of dievini Verwaltungs GmbH, which in turn acts as the manager of dievini Hopp BioTech holding GmbH & Co. KG.
Georg F. Baur, PhD (Deputy Chairman)

Dr Georg F. Baur was re-elected to the Supervisory Board on 21 May 2010 and is its current Deputy Chairman. He had already held this position from 28 August 2003 to 21 May 2010 after serving as the Supervisory Board’s chairman from 14 December 2000 to 28 August 2003. Dr Baur works as an entrepreneur in the areas of private investments and asset management. Between 1990 and 1992 he was Managing Partner of Lehndorff Vermögensverwaltungs GmbH. From 1979 to 1989 Dr Baur held various positions at JP Morgan, ultimately as Managing Director and Treasurer of the bank in London. He holds a PhD from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
Andreas R. Krebs

Andreas R. Krebs has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 21 May 2010. Mr Krebs has held executive management positions at a number of international companies in the pharmaceutical industry. Until October 2009 he worked for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Inc., Collegeville, PA, USA, as a member of the group’s Board of Directors and President of Europe, Middle East, Africa and Canada Operations. From 2003 until early 2008 Mr Krebs served as Managing Director of Wyeth Pharma GmbH, Münster. Prior to joining Wyeth, he worked for 19 years for the Leverkusen-based pharmaceutical group Bayer AG, where he held different marketing and sales management positions in Europe, Latin America, Asia and Canada, most recently as General Manager and Head of Pharmaceuticals for Bayer Inc., Toronto, Canada. He is currently the Managing Director and partner of CologneInvest GmbH and works independently for various companies in the pharmaceutical industry. Mr Krebs is a pharmaceutical trader by profession and began his career at Woelm-Pharma (ICN Pharmaceuticals), Eschwege.
Prof. Iris Löw-Friedrich, PhD

Professor Iris Löw-Friedrich has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 12 June 2007 and was re-elected by the Annual General Meeting on 21 May 2010. Since March 2008 she has served as Chief Medical Officer and Executive Vice President Development of UCB S.A., Brussels, Belgium. From 2001 to 2009 Professor Löw-Friedrich was a member of the Executive Board of Schwarz Pharma AG, Monheim am Rhein, with global responsibility for research and development. In 2000 and 2001 she served as Vice President Global Projects at BASF Pharma, Ludwigshafen. From 1992 to 2000 Professor Löw-Friedrich held various positions in the area of drug development at Hoechst AG, Frankfurt am Main, lastly as Vice President Clinical Development at Hoechst Marion Roussel / Aventis, Bridgewater, NJ, USA. Professor Löw-Friedrich began her career in 1985 as a junior doctor in the field of internal medicine at the University of Frankfurt/Main, Medical School, where she has also been a clinical professor for internal medicine since 2000. She studied medicine at the University of Frankfurt/Main, receiving her doctorate from this university in 1985.
Prof. Friedrich von Bohlen und Halbach, PhD

Dr Friedrich von Bohlen und Halbach has been a member of the Supervisory Board since 29 April 2005 and was re-elected on 21 May 2010. Since 2005 he has served as Managing Director of dievini Verwaltungs GmbH, which in turn acts as the manager of dievini Hopp BioTech holding GmbH & Co. KG, Walldorf, a company that supports and mentors SAP founder Dietmar Hopp in his investments in life sciences and advises the companies from the industry in which Mr Hopp invests on their corporate and business development. In 1997 he co-founded LION bioscience AG, Heidelberg, where he served as CEO until 2003 and of which has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board since 2004. From 1994 to 1997 he served as CEO of WASAG Chemie AG, Essen. Mr von Bohlen und Halbach began his career in 1992 as a project manager for the Research & Development division of Fresenius AG, Bad Homburg, following which he was assistant to the chairman of the Supervisory Board of FAG Kugelfischer KGaA, Schweinfurt. He studied biochemistry and business management in Zurich, Switzerland, and received a PhD in neurobiology from Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in 1992.
